SPOTLIGHT; 1952

Sumner High School in 1952 saw the continuation of top-level academic, artistic and athletic success under the leadership of George Dennis Brantley and his very proficient and professional faculty and staff. The student body was comprised of many great and talented individuals who went on to affect their world through significant and meaningful contributions. Among the noteworthy graduating seniors in this yearbook were Sumner High Instructor and Coach, James Blaylock, (former) St. Louis Mayor, Freeman Bosley and Civil Rights Activist and Humorist, Richard (Dick) Gregory.
